If you really care about draft 7.30 era autechre then don't give a fuck what an old enlightened centrist like me has to say, dude. Let it be known that I love loads of their work, especially the 90s stuff, but also some 00s and 10s, too. Haven't spent a whole lot of time on the newer stuff from around oversteps onwards when they had that revival of sorts. Here's my little autechre folder

See? Not a hater.

But I promise you I don't see it as bad. There's a difference between not liking something and not connecting with it. D7.30 is just not what I want from music. But that doesn't take away from the talent and skill it took to make which is impossible to ignore. Gimme uviol or liccflii, where there's still some semblance of a groove over 7.30 any day. I've had amazing times dancing or monging to stuff like those two.

Now now, mvu! :D Man, you could totally say that if that's how you feel. To be honest, I feel like a lot of music I've made has been very rudimentary in that I was trying to capture the vibe and texture of the types of music I like. That particular track was obvs a homage to Mr Heard and an attempt to channel his energy. I think it hit the mark, but as a tune it is a bit monotonous which is something I'm working on avoiding at the moment.

7.30 is never going to grow on me, dude. Soz

had Draft 7.30 on tonight. cat kept jumping on the bed and rubbing his face against me with exquisite delight. proof that cat has better more evolved brain than silly britisher oasis bacon sarnies. huge l for patty. outclassed in soulfulness by a cat.

And yet your cat was indifferent to Can You Feel It. Not sure I can put much value in it's opinions at this point.

this is one of the most epochal pieces of emotional electronic music ever created. even Larry Herd would agree. How can you call it cold and sterile?

those timbral chime sounds contrast with the somber atmosphere to create a sense of disciplined zealotry, of unswerving focus, of the need for clairvoyance, and yet, of a delicate and considered approach to comprehention and the assimilation of (albeit fragmented) knowledge acquired. It is one of life's greatest pleasures, and you simply cannot feel it?

you should listen to the spice girls like barty. what a sad predicament, desire without libidinal drive. sad, very sad. that's what nhs mindfulness courses do to an mf. heartbreaking. I'm in tears.

think berlin isn't giving you enough microtonal music, move to cologne.

I couldn't be less out of the Berlin loop. Never go out anymore and the rare times I do I go to Heideglühen which is the main soulful house n disco club

joking aside you know for someone who chats a lot about soul I've never heard you speak about the deep sadness in Autechre's music.

I like the earlier techre a lot which has loads of tunes and melancholy. Low ride n all that shit

I thought you disliked draft 7.30? That's the closing track on the album.

Guess I always think of the ganz graf style when thinking about 7.30. it's a nice tune

As I get older I feel less strongly about graf. It's just not something I ever choose to listen to
