i also prefer new 93 or 96 never died amen fetishising jungle to fl studio soundcloud jungle, sorry droid. that stuff just sounds like it trying to catch up with rap. the stuff i like is a heads/connoisseur sound, granted, but you can make the exception for you're most passionate genre surely? surely for something you know the ins and outs of it the if it ain't broke don't fix it formula can be applicable on occasion?
The problem with the new jungle producers is they are like us on here. they have an autistic knowledge of the genre. whereas the og junglists were sampling from everywhere and anywhere. so this stuff is obviously never going to achieve great to cannon status. I've long since accepted that tbh. it's not a scene i'm invested in as a progression or cultural comment, if I just want to hear back to basics jungle in a slightly new variation then it's there, just like punks like new bands doing no nonsense hardcore. I don't think there's anything inherently wrong with that.
