questions you are dying to ask but are too scared to b/c of music nerd cred?

If I remember rightly the vocals in Papua New Guinea are sampled from a homemade tape. The producers wife or girlfriend went on holiday to either Spain or Greece and had a short fling with a local man. When she returned home she received a letter from that man, who included a tape of his own singing. It was very weird and unprofessional sounding and the producer and his wife found it amusing. The sample formed the basis of papua new guinea, though presumably the finished article was a lot different from the original. I heard all this on a Dave Pierce TV show around twenty years ago where they played the best dance music tracks of the nineties, with each weeks' episode having a top ten of videos from the given year of the decade. I have not made this up I swear.

This is the correct answer. Not much dance music can balance the epic and spiritual with the body sex rhythm thing but this does. no wasted elements

sure, all of the acid cannon, but it's a spirituality of having gone too far, realising what god actually is and recoiling in horror after realising that the divine plan is not about justice but pure extant motion.

im not. that FSOL song was a huge forerunner to trance and prog house. @blissblogger can verify.

I don't like it, naturally. much prefer stuff like this.

and of course the ultimates from '91

naturally there was a much better form of hard trance which only lasted a short while and was an intensification of british-belgian brutalism.

aiming for the same territory but most people here are going to find it on the wrong side of good taste even good bad taste to be able to submit to it. unless there are lots of secret saha and digweed fans here.
