I'm excited, and I love Bjork's music, if only because she has been an outlet for Mark Bell's best work over the years.
I've always thought of her as a great synergiser in terms of art/production talent.
I also have some sympathy with Woebot's point about the post-acid house big bang losing cohesion as an organising principle.
Thought I'm not sure if I buy into the whole acid house 'year zero' thing either.
The whole shanty house thing...yeah its cool, but isn't that what the likes of...
I'm trying not to take this too seriously, but I don't know...people moaning about dubstep being 'over-inscribed' and 'potentious' obviously haven't been down the front at fwd during an N-Type set.
Anyway isn't funky house just popular because there are actually women at the dances instead of...
Definitely OTM.
e.g. dubplate.net. It was the vacum created by that going down (a the time tempa weren't releasing anything either, it was a very barren period for the music) that started dubstepforum.com and (arguably) the spreading internationally of the sound which was aided so effectively...
Its bollocks really...they can't own the rights to all the music surely because those rights are owned by the artists, publishing companies or whatever. So what exactly is it they own - I suppose to the performance?
Are rinse even a company that would be recognised in a court of law? Surely the...
This is fucked. Really and truly fucked.
FWD was getting fucking boring anyway on Fridays...I really (oh the dilema) want to see Pinch there next week but after this I think it will be my last visit for the forseeable future.
:(
Jesus you lot are moaning bastards.
It will probably just be pinch doing half an hour and Villalobos doing half an hour or something, I doubt they will do 2 for 2 or anything ambitious, anyway, bound to be some great music.
Ghost trax cru yeah - thats pretty much what I meant...quite a dry sound. Compression then resample the snare (I always find resampling adds that extra something).
The ambience in this tune really reminds me of some of those music/image cityscape shots in Michael Mann's Miami Vice. Also actually think he really goes in on the uber-Ghost compressed snare thing here, like a Nude tune maybe, where as on the LP the sonics are a little more sprawling on the...
Its the long tail/distribution revolution the internet has created.
What always got me was that in the capital city of the largest city in Europe there are loads of records second-hand I can't source because of the bottleneck of shops needing a physical location, and the capacity/rent problems...
