I think this one was quite well known. Jackie Moore - This Time, Baby

What I like about the little corner of dnb soldiering away is whilst they are clearly influenced by dubstep a lot of the d bridge, instramental etc stuff is genuinely an original spin on the 170bpm tempo. Its also satisfying to see the true hold-outs of the most written off genre amongst the...

    Dubstep

D Bridge and Instra:Mental are shaping up to be producers of 09 irrespective of genre. Last night was heavy, he also played at the bunch of cuts night on Friday and that was really deep and rolling too. Elgato its mainly just dnb still he produces...tbh I hope he stays around there mostly, as...

I'd love to see the remix of paradise dub get released. It tops the original for that swaying, relentless pressure vibe.

Roots of El-B Just picked this up today - great liner notes Martin. Tracklist is good, we all have personal faves I would have liked to have seen on there (I like the weird 3rd mix of Digital a lot and the Spooks is one of his best I reckon but thats what crate-digging/discogs is for).

The Last Day on this EP is the one...possibly in the top 5 jungle tunes of all time and certainly Krust's best ever tune (imo). I've never really thought of the similarities, in terms of sonics I associate Pev with more of Scotty's productions but I can see the link in vibe definitely.

    Dubstep

To jump in, I reckon its the best thing he's done apart from maybe that tune Esperanto. The whole early jammer/sino feel in the keys is wicked and really makes the tune...its a tuffer sounding beat, more on the Pinch vibe but he just rolls it out for ages in that pulsing no-drop, never-ending...

Was good...very busy even by Friday night in PP comparisons. Martyn was cool, played a bunch of funky along with his own stuff and was generally top notch. D Bridge was wicked to kick tings off. They'd sorted the sound out really well in there too, as sometimes on a Sunday it doesn't sound as...

    Grand Theft Auto

There is an interesting piece in the current London Review of Books on video games...written by someone who does know a little about them but is older so its not the cultural river he swims in - more to the point though its directed at an audience unlikely ever to have played a game or know much...

    Funky/London/UK House

I don't agree - personally I've listened and raved to house for quite a long time but its mostly been of the 'minimal' variety, so the London tech house sound a few years back especially when fabric was first open, and in recent years the whole cassy/lawrence/efdemin axis. I've never been into...

    Funky/London/UK House

Marcus was sick last night...definitely the highlight for me of a very strong line up. I was surprised by the lack of vocal tunes, but seeing as I think the vocal tunes in London funky are mostly not up to much (the US guys do it so much better), that was all for the better. He was just pure...

    Great 2 Step?

I expect they asked him to do a list of 2-step records and he had fave tunes which didn't quite fit that.

Btw can anyone re-up the Blackdown and Dusk show from last Thursday? Rinse site being unbelievably slow this evening.

    Dubstep

Thats something I've heard other people say...all I will say is that his remix of Basin dub sounded very fat and warm at Berghain last Friday! I probably agree about the 12s...his remixes are particularly good, especially the Vancouver and Pattie Blingh ones.

For me Martyn (and 2562) are about another kind of rudeness entirely...not really 2-step but the dirty twin cities house vibe, Theo Parrish and the rest.
