    Karlheinz Stockhausen RIP

I'm arguing that they are full stop. As for Aphex et al, their music has always been about other things, tribal music whatever, never really saw a huge overlap with Stockhausen's aesthetic.

    Karlheinz Stockhausen RIP

his writing's are an entertaining read too. He's great on music education in stating the most important thing is , 'get everyone dancing',:cool: this never happened at my school and i kinda think he was probably right. I only know bits of his oevre but you can't argue that Kontake &...

    giant steps

exactly although it somehow reminds me of that quote, 'writing about music is like dancing about architecture.' It does seem like a hyperactive architecture video as if the building is trying to dance.

Impact of smoking ban on clubs

I agree here, this law is too blanket, went to see the Bug/Shackleton/Kode9 last night at Plastic People, it was crying out for a mist of skunk in there, all i could smell was persil automatic :( i'm not a smoker but i'm beginning to miss those hazy smokey atmospheres.

    London on the cheap

It's gorgeous isn't it. Really easy to get to and much more deserted than say Richmond Park which is perhaps it's southern opposite. Lovely at this time of year. My vote goes for the Castle Brasserie in E&C shopping centre 1st Flr, huge plate of curry for £2.89!!! :)

Impact of smoking ban on clubs

Time Out feature Time out did a good article here> Smoking Ban: the aftermath generally a bit depressing looking at what has happened in NY. I enjoy the ban in pubs but in clubs it just seems stupid. Segregating people is not what clubbing is about. Last time I went out it wasn't a legal...

    New Computer

having been an unpaid tech-support bod for my father over the last 10yrs on his PC I honestly believe for the average user a mac is better. There's so much less to worry about :p Having a corporate locked down PC is one thing, having an XP machine and protecting it just seems a nightmare.

    Bloatware

My version of SoulseeX v 1.0b6 works a treat, agree about bloatware, apple is no less guilty of this on the OS front, each new OS X version requires a hardware upgrade really. What really annoys me about the bloatware thing is the latest anti-virus softwares e.g. McAfee & Norton you need a...
