    Classic House

few more spots... just plowing around Detroit and Chicago (etc)... here's an early one from 430 West... this song is soaking in the same amazing sappiness as Sunlight in My Eyes by Mood II Swing... that vocal and the almost Reese-y bass... early garage bit from Brett Dancer... this guy, and...

hey thanks much for that. thanks everyone for humouring me. judging by what is getting unearthed, it almost seems like what i'm describing couldn't be termed "classic"... more like 'middle-period' or something. for me, here and elsewhere, i am pretty interested in some kind of unholy alliance...

    Classic House

i'm trying to dig more in earnest now, for mostly Chicago/Detroit/NYC stuff from the mid 90s... been trawling through a few releases from Dana Kelley/Callisto... this one particular EP has a couple of nice tracks on it... the paradigm EP is also quite nice. I have definitely been trying to...

    house and techno are bad

didn't know where else to put this so here it is: appreciation for Walt and Dave. This track had me thinking of the haunting hardcore thread... of course its later an' so on... but. Good things. And since i'm still digging, here's a nice deep house bit from Walt, a bit later:

all this stuff is totally new to me. thanks for all the gems. too many exciting ones to even begin really, but the satin storm tune and the dream 2 science bit were both pretty great.

    Rolling Radio Show Thread

guess this is as good a place as any to ask the following... i've been listening to a lot of James Stinson/Drexciya lately, and a fair bit of Detroit stuff in general... getting more curious about Underground Resistance at the moment... and i am wondering if anyone knows if there are some good...

rolling back to the future garage/post-dubstep/alt-funkstep/intelli-2step etc thread

this discussion is happening within the context of a recent London, things to remember: ASBO is a little over 10 years old CCTV per person in London is off the chain Grime raves were criminalized to a degree (was having trouble finding the specifics of all that the police did to stifle them on...

    Funky/London/UK House

that track is really great, but there is a lot of garbage in the middle of that mix too... so much oscillator synth electro house business... the dutch thing? still not a fan, several months later. i can see how it blends well with Ill Blu productions, and some of theirs do right by it but...

rolling back to the future garage/post-dubstep/alt-funkstep/intelli-2step etc thread

i can't really be prescriptive, because my hold of what's going on is incredibly tenuous right now; but it seems to me that, at least on this side of the nuum's present doings (if you still accept...) now is a time for that more refined side of the sound to shine a bit. i'm thinking of things...

fell off for a bit there... was just checking an Addison set from the Boiler Room... the track at around the 17 minute mark that sounds like Burial post-Todd vocals run through the Addison sound... that is an Addison Groove track right? is it making the rounds?
