    hip-hop, where to begin?

Have I gone blind or is BIG L not on that list? Doesn't seem possible, considering many people call him the greatest mc of all time. Anyone not familiar should check out D.I.T.C., which consisted of Big L, Fat Joe, Diamond D, Kid Capri.

    hip-hop, where to begin?

nah man mobb have always flirted with mainstream success but they'll never fully break through cuz they're just too dark. and anyway that first tune they released with 50 cent was the tune of the summer ('outta control rmx'). sick sick sick liquor sipping hazy summer track. give it another...

DUB WAR III - Kode 9, Joe Nice, Dave Q - Rothko, NYC

I ain't mad at ya pd :) Not sure what happened with the Rothko system myself, but I do know that I've been over there for Direct Drive a few times recently and the sound was ripe. Either they worked out some wrinkles or dnb Dj's just know how to push the system to fill the room.

    hip-hop, where to begin?

Yeah we all have our favorite hip hop albums, but NEVER has it crossed my mind to choose ONE track that exemplifies hip hop beyond all others. But if I had to I'd say Mobb Deep - "Shook Ones Pt. 2" (well, come to think of it, maybe "Survival of the Fittest" also off Infamous)

    Some Black Dog Mixes

Martin thanks for this. Really enjoying so far. I always enjoyed Black Dog in the context of the studio material, so it's a pleasant surprise hearing it in dancefloor mode. Cheers!

    Plasticman & Vex'd in Philly 10/12 !!!

Agreed. This event was pure fire. Both Vex'd and Plastic threw down and NYC showed its appreciation. Respect is also due to Spinoza and the Bunker crew for a consistently solid party. I'm also getting the feeling that dubstep is starting to get people's attention here. Look out for another...

    2005's Best Urban Hip-Hop?

Mike Jones 'Back Then' is another undeniable anthem, even if it's been rinsed to death. Mike Jones has pretty much owned this year, and alongside the whole Swisha House have repped Houston real big this year.

    2005's Best Urban Hip-Hop?

The new Mobb Deep / 50 Cent collab 'Outta Control' is a major creeper. Got that infectious sample which you can listen to on loop all day kinda like the horns in 'Brand New Flava.' Definite in the club business.
