    messages from the runout groove

http://www.discogs.com/release/207157 has the best etchings. One of the tracks is interrupted by a wide empty band and the band says something like "Do not play this track. It will fuck up your needle and we would be very upset". I'll dig it up at home and edit this to what it really says.

Canadia... what is wrong with you people?

Ok, ok. I didn't know what I was talking about. But whenever I see some European (or even American) electronic act touring it's always NY, Chicago, Vancouver, Seattle and San Francisco.

    Dubstep Anthems

Hmm...it may be an anthem but it's laughable to compare this to "Midnight Request Line". Though I will say that it has higher production values than most dubstep (not that high of a bar admittedly).

So where can I hear this "Night" track everyone is talking about?

    hardcore breaks - what's good?

Some of the new labels are: Enormous Mouse Warehouse Wax Sharkfin Records http://www.redeyerecords.co.uk have a whole section devoted to this stuff. None of it strikes as particularly good. It's all too clean sounding and follows a pretty safe formula for how to make a rave tune. It's afraid to...

    Minimal house anthems

yeah, pretty much anything deep chord affiliated is worth a lot of money (for a dance record anyway). That's probably a 30-50 quid record you got there.

    Minimal house anthems

Hmm..I am not convinced. The bassline is a bit different. Maybe there's two samples making up the groove.

    Dubstep

I really like the melodic dubstep Caspa plays (and Dub Police label in general). like here: http://www.futurebreaks.fm/blog/caspa-6232007/ Especially like Caspa & Rusko - Rock Bottom, too bad it's not out.

Canadia... what is wrong with you people?

If you are into electronic music then vancouver has more to offer than nearly any city in North America (except the obvious centers). And I don't even live there, just going but what's on the surface. Wagon Repair label for one.

Scuse me mate, have you got that one that goes nah nah nuh nah nah nuh nah?!?

Then it's "Mission Ecstasy". It's got to be The Horrorist.

    Trance

You talking about the Kompakt one or the one on *gasp* Peacefrog? Never thought you'd see them doing trance either. I dunno...sounds very mid 90's trance to me, except without the breakdowns and with slightly different drum sounds so as not to spook the minimal guys (it's for the better anyway).

Scuse me mate, have you got that one that goes nah nah nuh nah nah nuh nah?!?

Don't want to ruin it for you but probably not. I sold the album that it was on. So many tracks out there that are worse than you remember... I was going through the market in Akko last month and one of the vendors was playing this music that was just a guy chanting in a sorta dancehall style...

    Trance

I adore trance. The new Aril Brikha records are definitely trance. So is a lot of stuff on Traum. Trance is definitely rave music. What Moving Shadow was to the UK, Harthouse was to Germany. And who was the guy behind Harthouse? Sven Vath! The man behind Cocoon. So no wonder trance is making a...

    Minimal house anthems

While we are on the topic of "Space Warrior" (which is better of the two IMO)...does it sample something? That angelic voice sounds really familiar, like it came from some early 90's trance/techno record. Maybe it's just an often used patch. Oh, another question. Jichael Mackson - The Grass Is...
