haha. yeah, most mags do this. It's so they can tell you what's happening that month before it actually happens. You can read previews of march events and then go an buy tickets, etc. Most mags, let alone music mags, work in this way.

Re: the darkness. He views it as more akin to a satori zen thing than a black hole swallowing you up. Hence the void isn't something to be scared of. It's also worth noting that the lyrics in his tracks are generally by Vengeance Tenfold, who isn't simply a mouthpiece for Shackleton...

He doesn't see his music as dark, is the short answer to that...

Yeah, it's an absorbing watch for my money. The whole Drexciya thing is so cinematic, you wonder why it's not been broached before. I should point out that the film is in no sense a documentary or a history of Drexciya. Quite the opposite.

It's called Hydra Decapita. It's finished now, but hasn't been shown yet. I imagine it'll be shown at various galleries, hopefully coming to London soon-ish (shame, but no DVD or video release is being planned) (Self promotion: there's an article about the film + interview with Kodwo and...

YouTube is fine, but what I want is someone who knows what's what to do a great selection of dances for me, and to provide a few interviews and stuff which map out the scene. That was the great thing about the Grime DVDs, they were like a map of the city and the scene.

Kodwo's Otolith Group (his art vehicle with Anjalika Sagar) has just made a film which is based around Drexicya. It's good, all Drexciyans will like it.

What I feel someone needs to do with this stuff is release a DVD, Lord Of The Mics (Lord Of The Floor?) style. God, I'd pay 15 quid for a well produced DVD, like a shot, a total no-brainer purchase!
