I really enjoy the score for Jorg Buttgereit's "Nekromantik"...the very definition of scuzzy shoestring horror music. Great stuff! There was a reissue that came out that also featured the music for "Der Todesking" which is also worth checking out (both are by Hermann Koop, I believe).

Aronofsky's "The Fountain"...beautiful, haunting and breath-taking (possibly redundant, but it's difficult to find enough superlatives for this). One of the best things I've seen in a theatre for years. Absolutely hypnotic with an assured circular storyline and not a single wasted moment in...
