    Best Dracula movie?

The scene where the sight of blood first sets Kinski off and he suddenly spasms and hurls the chair against the wall? Gives me shivers every time. Excellent film.

    Zizek C4 Thurs Mrch 16th

God, you're a twit. If any thing is a deterrent to workers' unity it's self-righteous, masturbatory twaddle like this. You're the PR Wing, are you?

Films you've seen recently and would unreservedly recommend:

Excellent! Thanks for the recommendations, I will most certainly check those all out in the weeks to come. Just finished a Castellari marathon last week of "Street Law" (speaking of amazing Franco Nero dubbing), "The Big Racket" (super kinetic excellent action sequences) and "The Heroin...

Films you've seen recently and would unreservedly recommend:

Absolutely great flick, every scene is so beautifully composed. The character of the priest is actually very interesting as well, especially once his back story (no spoilers here!) is revealed in that left-field burst near the end. Complete integration of the giallo and nunsploitation genres...

I found book about old magick and here is some occult pictures

Well worth Googling Mr. Tore Toivicco. Best quote (so far): "CHEESE IS VERY GOOD FOR TEETH.ONE MAN SAID THAT HE HAS EATEN CHEESE EVERY DAY,AND HAS NOT HAD PROBLEMS WITH TEETH.I THINK I HAVE ALSO READ AN ARTICLE ABOUT THIS,SAYING SAME THING:EATING CHEESE DAILY BASIS KEEPS TEETH IN GOOD...

Did you see the Dr. Seuss entry? How...um...comprehensive.

    Richard Scarry

I would have my father read me "Cars And Trucks And Things That Go" every night multiple times until he could recite large chunks of the book from memory. Looking at Scarry's books while shopping for reading for my daughter, I'm still completely hypnotized by the levels of thought and detail in...

    Where is Kodwo?

Not to turn this into a price chronicle, but round these parts Amazon Canada has it for $1,258.00!! http://www.amazon.ca/gp/offer-listing/0704380250/ref=dp_olp_2/701-0527407-2005964 I cannot for the life of me imagine the human being that would spend $1.2K on a paperback book.

    Land Of Look Behind

That "Dust Devil" set was amazing...not sure how many Subversive titles have already come out in Australia, but we have a bunch of classics to look forward to here. "Funny Man", "Living Hell"..."Battlefield Baseball" looks like a lot of fun as well. Herzog's "Wild Blue Yonder" is on the way...

    Land Of Look Behind

Anybody seen this? It's coming out next year over here in frigid Canada, and I can find nothing but a few sketchy (but glowing reviews).

    Henry Flynt

Always heard great things about the drone records, but never heard any myself...any reccomendations Buick? Myself, I adore his hillbilly garage protest record "I Don't Wanna"...so amped up you can practically hear spittle fly from the speakers. The instrumentation is ragged, but really tight...

1998 article just added to "The Wire" online archives from Kodwo Eshun that might be of some relevance: The enigmatic Detroit duo Drexciya disperse the African-American diaspora from the depths of the Atlantic into outer space. http://www.thewire.co.uk/archive/essays/fearofawetplanet.html

    Scuzz horror soundtracks

I really enjoy the score for Jorg Buttgereit's "Nekromantik"...the very definition of scuzzy shoestring horror music. Great stuff! There was a reissue that came out that also featured the music for "Der Todesking" which is also worth checking out (both are by Hermann Koop, I believe).

Films you've seen recently and would unreservedly recommend:

Aronofsky's "The Fountain"...beautiful, haunting and breath-taking (possibly redundant, but it's difficult to find enough superlatives for this). One of the best things I've seen in a theatre for years. Absolutely hypnotic with an assured circular storyline and not a single wasted moment in...
