    Early digi reggae

I picked that up and found very few tunes I like on it, not really the style I enjoy.

I don't think it was switched off for any attempt to change people's perceptions of the music, more the way that they viewed and used the forum. As you can see in the, frankly rather embarrasing, welcome back thread, there is a lot of negativity against those that run the site.

    Funky/London/UK House

I'm finding I'm a bit late on house music in general, as I just associated it with the undemanding cheesy meat market music of my youth.

Cool, should be locked at some point.

    Dubstep

I've stopped reading it. The way some of the complaints have been written have been even more pretentious than the actual original that seems to have worked them up into such a typing frenzy. I find it hard to understand how people are capable of getting so worked up over a forum, seems like an...

    King Midas Sound

This is the first bug release I've liked in a long time. Personally, I can't stand his abrasive stuff.

    Early digi reggae

Thanks for your recommendations, I have the Techniques comp on Maximum Pressure, and have been trying to find the Jammy’s one but it seems to be out of press at the moment unfortunately. I also have the White Mice (essential) and the other Basic Replay’s. I’ve been buying quite a few bits off...

    Early digi reggae

I've been picking up some stuff off a guy on e-bay. I was a little late to digi, I used to be a 70s roots diehard, but recently found myself really enjoying a lot of early digi, particularly the Tenor Saw, Courtney Melody style stuff. Anyone know the Tenor Saw - I Know or Courtney Melody -...

    Dubstep

I think Martyn's stuff has a lot of soul, but a lot of the 2562 is almost too well produced and clean, almost metallic cold. I found the album surprisingly hard going when I quite liked the 12s.

I'll find it, just on a bit of a frugal stretch due to upcoming house improvements (a sure sign of age!).

    Roiling football blather

great goal, reminded me a little of this one by van der vaart a few years back you could probably try it 100 more times and it wouldn't come off again.

    Dubstep

I find it odd that someone celebrate the closure (albeit potentially temporarily) of a forum that gave them exposure when not many people might have heard of them. I'm not having a dig, I just find it hard to understand. I think it's actually pretty sad it's had to come to this. From the...

    Roiling football blather

The Henry goal is well worth watching, brilliant football. Liverpool are looking like they may actually be able to mount a lasting challenge this season, great comeback from them. Thankfully Utd look like they are starting to click, Berbatov is adding another dimension up front. Such a natural...

Indeed. The whole 'Bash' thing was incredibly badly managed and lost them a lot of goodwill which is unfortunate. A few people were a little precious about the awards last year which caused a lot of grief, also and there was an increase troll type rubbish which ruined the atmosphere...
