seems very characteristic of what he plays (ie not really funky exactly)

is that a joke? russell brand hosting a mixtape? i repeat, he is just not funny. i could see him as sort of a good character (if cod-dickensian street kids via captain jack sparrow is your sort of thing) actor/personality, type of person who would be good working at london dungeon or something...

russell brand just isnt funny. its like he watched pirates of the carribean and decided to model himself on that entirely. i THINK he was a bit funny when he used to do big brothers littls brother but since his more sucesful 'makeover' hes just become a 100 times less funny. he seems like an...

lazy q (i cant find much on the net about it tho) - what are some essential juke mix cds? am wondering if there were any era-defining ones, or mix cds that are some sort of benchmark for the scene.

i really dont get a crossover feeling from r1 ryders, at least not from the tunes that have really done well for them, ricochet, hydraulic, etc. but there are/are going to be a lot more crossover tunes coming i reckon, from lots of producers trying to get dubstep/post-dubstep appeal. i blame...

r1 ryders are factmag funky?! not heard every thing theyve made but rubberband and hydraulic are top-flight funky bangers imo. love them both. i like that illmana tune even if it is a bit more on the techier side of things, reminds me of champions lose control and new lil silva.

    ipod repairs

is it worth it? i found one place in brighton that does mail order repair (mine needs a new HD) for about £70 inclusive but on ebay you can pick up the same models, modified for about £10 less (though i would still then be stuck with a useless ld machine lying around) anyone know a...

checking out the 20th april marcus set based on recomendations from ilx. its pretty sick. last hour seems much more like what you expect from marcus than the more dutch house sounding stuff he seems to be into.

negative reviews so im listening to bohla for the first time - it sounds just like untold doing wiley! that silkie tune is a nice enough if not really essential ukg revival tune. quite fast. i can kind of see natalias song playing in the credits of an 'edgy' tv series. thinking about this stuff...

you could argue that its like white producers reclaiming their 'whiteness'. like what ppl say about indie after punk. just with namby pamby indie values rather than rock ones. if any of the producers came out and said something like that, things could get interesting.
