that kind of list is boring industry stuff in any case. nothing to do with actual music. if we were talking about musical influence right now, at least in relation to stuff that dissensus is into, bok bok, kode 9 and mike paradinas would be in there.

interesting. tho in the mid 90s i did not have time for techno. i regret this however listening to woebots gangsta techno mix which is quite awesome (tho the inclusion of wileys igloo has thrown me).

    King Midas Sound

that review is pedantic but the earnest wordiness of the original review did make me chuckle a little. still, KMS might be my favourite thing KM has done to date. i hope him and roger r do more work together. meltdown is a bonafide brit-soul/reggae classic imo. up there with anything massive...

    Funky/London/UK House

saw this on ilx heard this on live fm recently - i seriously love it. most funky vocals to me seem to have no dynamics, its like the singer is just blurting out something she wrote 5 minutes earlier, but this is great. its not new at all (2009! lol) but its like what id like ny to have come...

    Dubstep

did want to like the joker song and its decent enough for what it is, but it is still really generic. like joker doing a bad la roux rework. doesnt even really sound much like joker tbh, its like hes got rid of the harder/funkier edges to what he does to make it more radio 1 friendly. and the...

didnt see this thread. but yeah as i posted in the tv thread, i thought All Watched Over by Machines of Loving Grace on bbc2 was fucking superb, just as a programme with great graphics and library footage if nothing else. not sure about the angles he takes, or his theory exactly, but he makes...

The Wire, Arrested Development - Prototypes of a new type of telly?

i have devloped a strange liking for made in chelsea. have started doing my best hugo impression. you know, head tilted up, eyebrows delicately raised. cant get my beard as good tho. at first i thought it was just banal, crap drama AND crap (mock) docu, but now i find myself wanting to know...

tho i am but a mere techno dabbler, that numbers release sounds JUST like old techno lol. if you told me it had been made in the mid-late 90s id prob believe you. quite good in that sense. at this point i think i prefer straight retro stuff that sounds just like a certain era than one that...

everything popular is wrong. why making it electronic music is harder than ever.
