thats what all the 'nuumologists' seem to believe though isnt it. that most producers will just move from one sound to the next seamlessly.

loefah also strikes me as someone who is very self conscious or at least very particular about what his music should and shouldnt be which i think will inhibit him from the off. i cant see him changing any game at this stage. i think dubstep will be the only thing he could make. its weird how...

i really liked that jamie xx tune until the minute mark. can ppl stop treating their vocals with james blake type fx. its really shit now. but the track isnt that bad, its just the vocals that ruin it. the drums arent terrible but his music would be much better without drum programming. it would...

its just a straight up nu-garage/house thing, rather than doing 'future garage' or the dubstep version of 2step. i admit that ive not paid much attn to mosca before (i prob know his tracks, just havent sought them out), but hey, its just plain good, if nothing new. the bok bok ep is...

that bassline that kicks in half way is from an old garage/grime (by geeneus?) track that everyone knows but i cant remember the name of right now. but yeah it sounds just like an old garage tune. not a weedy or overfly serious/heavy version of an old garage tune either which i think makes it...

weirdly im listening to the new richie hawtin xlr8r mix from their website and thinking not only is quite a bit of it dubstep/techno/basic channel sounding but quite a bit of it could work in this thread, if it were maybe a bit less well produced. its pretty good in any case. i wouldnt mind...

do we really need the digital switchover?

dab is like digital tv. they both look and sound like shit. its technology ushered out far too quick before they are really at a pleasing standard.

    Dubstep

i welcome them making it harder for djs to mix stuff. more fun. the pinch thing sounds like old broken d&b-meets-tribal dmz-style dubstep.

this is old i think but i like this stuff. no idea what the references are. http://www.chemical-records.co.uk/sc/servlet/Info?Track=OTB7 but i like it more than the moodier/inward stuff from this scene.

yeah exactly. the ppl making it and listening to it are a bit nerdy (not saying that as a slight, i mean im on dissensus lol) so what dyou expect. if they dont like it then you do what bambaata and them used to do - wipe the labels off, or cover them up so ppl cant see. not that hard really. or...

i think its ok for trainspotters and dancers to share the same space. they need somewhere to go too. trainspotters of today maybe the onemans of tomorrow. also, i dont necess think you have to be a dancer yourself to 'get' dance music, or know what would make others dance (though being in clubs...

but isnt just that the type of crowds these guys play for? and i cant imagine its everyone doing that, just a certain geeky dj type, which no doubt, is what they used to be like too. if they were playing great big warehouses then im sure it would be like the raves of the early 90s, but were not...

do we really need the digital switchover?

i think the idea is that dab will be replaced by some sort of dab mk 2 with better quality so the point of car manufacturers installing in costly dabs now is pointless for them.

do we really need the digital switchover?

my parents - partly cos i think all their friends have got new tvs - decided they just HAD to get a new wide screen tv too, despite their old one working just fine, and tbh, i think its a needless waste of money. i know the old one will be obsolete when the digital switchover is complete, but im...

it starts off as pretty much straight 8 bar but def doesnt end up as that. not sure about the middle bit. hmm. but the main 'verse' section reminds me of some old tubby thing. this track in fact - http://redeyerecords1.co.uk/sounds/mp3/22945.mp3
