yes but if you're going to talk about "most" and "mainstream" then breakcore and juke don't belong in the discussion. an important point that i didn't mention is that the people i'm talking about aren't just music fans (in which case i wouldn't disagree with you too vehemently) but DJ's...

are you kidding? white metal fans have been into hip-hop for 20+ years.

i don't got much, all i really meant was here were folks who were into dance music and having been into breakcore i expected them to have an open mind to stuff that is rhythmically wild but they slagged off footwork from the get-go.

heh, no amit does not work. instra:mental is brilliant tho. will try dbridge. i was surprised that my friends who used to be into breakcore don't like footwork, tho they might catch on later. i know one footwork producer who used to make breakcore. i wouldn't say dubstep fans have gone for it...

oh man, good call on instra:mental! i totally dig them and i've been looking for stuff to mix w/ footwork on my glitch.fm radio show. it's called lost in bass and airs 0200-0400 GMT. i've been mixing some 80 bpm bass music like chip chop (run riot records) and kelpe w/ the footwork. speaking...

Scored the wav release of Da Trak Genious from bleep today -- so so fine. What a mind bending release, it's rough and tough and hits all the right spots. Massive respect to Mike P for pulling off this project. It is really great to have this out there. I am going to be playing this a lot!

@neema question for you: do you think nate, elmoe and them copped their style from other footwurk producers, and if so who? or is it just a style of footwurk you don't like?

OK so meter-pinned ignorance in the comments aside, what do y'all think of the xlr8r mix?

Who Nate got into footwork is neither here nor there. Jimi Hendrix's fans back in the day were hippies, who were a bunch of upper middle class white kids. Is that a reflection on his music? Archie Shepp said in a late 1970's interview, "jazz is white people's music now", and by that he meant the...

agreed. dude has a chip on his shoulder. nate's music was seminal. i'm glad as hell it's been documented.

they're typical. if you look on any music board someone has started a thread on juke/footwurk and it will be loaded w/ comments like "it's not music", "is my computer broken?", "this is how low we've sunk", "i like footcrab but this is just noise", etc.

yeah the comments -- footwurk do cause controversy wherever it go.. but that mix -- OH SHIT!
