    Creativity - practically speaking.

big up the artist way! I started the artist way thing back in March and still do the morning pages - whatever people may say about it, they have made me improve my drawing ability beyond what I thought I was capable of. I've now enrolled into a drawing course to take it further. So it has...

    'Layered films'

I know it's not exactly what you're looking for but in Stranger Than Fiction graphics are used to represent the mental processes of a tax accountant. You see spreadsheets and forms flying around his head and everything.

    RIP Isaac Hayes

Despite his monumental music career, I will always remember him as Asneeze from Robin Hood Men in Tights.

films you have seen not so recently and would request help in identifying

It's a long shot but... I saw this movie when I was 10 or so. All I remember is that it had John Goodman being kidnapped by aliens (or something similar) and there was a scene where the aliens had him captured and strapped down and were using a machine to watch his dreams. It's some stupid...

    Cunty Beats Battle Mix

Pestario - Cunty Beats Battle Mix I've put together a mix of Vogue house/Cunt beats battle tracks. These are tracks used in the underground voguing scene in the US. Voguing is a form of dance that originated in the black and latino gay community in New York and later in other major US cities...

    PsychoBuildings @ the Hayward

I went to this on Sunday morning and thought it was great. According to the exhibition pamphlet the works were supposed to "involve us in a reconsideration of space and place, and prompt us to re-examine our ideas about the relationship between ourselves - our bodies and minds - and our...

Pointless But It Does My Head In

It's hotter in the office than it is outside. The Council spent the money to install these huge air con units on our floor but failed to realise that we don't have an adequate power supply to run them. Of course, there was no money to fix this so now the machines just sit there, mocking us...

Films you've seen recently and would unreservedly recommend:

I first watched Spirited Away during a massive comedown after bender of a weekend. The movie didn't go well with my brain chemistry at the time and I resented the movie because of it. I watched it again over a year later with fresh eyes/seratonin and enjoyed it but Studio Ghibli's other films...

    PsychoBuildings @ the Hayward

I haven't been yet but the theme is not so much about 'psychotic buildings' but how artists could use spaces to interact with the mind through the language of architecture. So you could have happy spaces, scary spaces, whatever. I'm probably heading to this over the weekend so I won't say much...

    Inflation/Hyperinflation

Also, if you're a public service worker and your pay is increased below the rate of inflation, you are in a way paying a tax to the govt. The recent council strikes were about this.

    Inflation/Hyperinflation

Reading on wikipedia it said somewhere that the exchange rate was broadcast on the radio during hyperinflationary times so I guess that's how people knew.
