    nyc transit strike

I would disagree on a large part - a lot of major corporate work is pedantic arguing over clause 314.a.ii) on Force Majuere that will probably be completely unnecessary, save for about £6000 in lawyers bills for the time arguing over it. A lot of the work is proforma based. Political - maybe...

    Oyster (for Londoners..)

What happens is that it allows you a journey if you have some credit (say £1), though the fare may be £1.80. As a result, your oyster is 80p in debt. It won't let you travel until you sort this out (even if you have a zone 1+2 travelcard and are in zone 1 or 2), which can suck a little...

in 2020, which record will be remembered more fondly?

Peaches. Simply because near on three/four years on, people remember the Peaches album and it is still worth a listen now and then. It got three big pushes on sales as people caught on to it, whereas MIA seems to be showing no sign of it. All said, Peaches isn't a great album, but is very...

    ipod/mp3 earbuds health risk

Buick - that article is nonsense! So, second paragraph they are saying that the article subject is just conjecture! The idea that listening to something loud pushed in your ear for a length of time may result in damaged hearing?! Really? Do you think so?!?

    World cup predictions rant

I think his performance last night, amongst many others this season, would counter that. And that's from a City supporter!

    World cup predictions rant

Wright-Phillips is a no-go on the left wing. Having watched him play for about five seasons before Chelsea chose to rest him at great expense for a few years, Shaun clearly favours the right wing. Originally he was played in several positions at City (including centre forward, believe it or...

    World cup predictions rant

I agree with some of the sentiment, but would argue that England are very much short of getting the correct eleven on the pitch The midfield needs sorted. Gerrard and Lampard can't play in the middle together. They need a defensive midfielder otherwise they are in trouble. I can't see who...

DUBSTEP- breaking news, gossip, slander, lies etc

As mms says - it is a good test process. The sound is great on them, and as a dub costs about £20, and a pressing run costs about £800, it is a little bit cheaper to do the dub. You could argue that without the dub process, request line wouldn't have been able to guarantee to shift the volumes...

    World cup predictions rant

Right - I reckon I want to bet on Costa Rica to beat Germany in the opener. Maybe double it with Wanchope to score. Isn't going to be quite as good as the last world cup, when 9-1 on Senegal to beat France paid me up for the whole tournament in the pub.

    Gripe about Revenant Records packaging

Basic Channel wanted you to buy the vinyl (allegedly) so constructed nice packaging that destroyed the CD. Fair enough, I say.

    Top 20 albums of 2005..?

Noone normally comes across into being interested in house music (esp. Microhouse) on here, yet it seems recurrent in the lists. Especially Isolee's album for which I don't think there was any direct discussion. Maybe because that stuff is kinda obvious, though I might try and see with a...

DUBSTEP- breaking news, gossip, slander, lies etc

I was saying plastic is grime, inabouts having a laugh about the constant debate. Given the labels the releases are on (mainly), I would put Mark One in Dubstep but can see the points you make. Must point out that either this page took off when I was looking (given posts between mine and...

GRIME- breaking news, gossip, slander, lies etc

It was more a point that Wonder is Grime. See when he DJs at FWD it is grime, his history is grime - it kinda is. And the Dubstep peeps are much more precise on what is and isn't (I would hardly be surprised if it broke into several subgenre - Vex'd isn't really Dubstep etc..)

DUBSTEP- breaking news, gossip, slander, lies etc

Given the amount of times plasticman has said he is grime, he is clearly dubstep. It's like excessive denial. Nah, Plasticman is grime, Mark One is typically dubstep when on his own.

    Top 20 albums of 2005..?

Right - how does this work? Cos I am absolutely sure Soft Pink Truth was 2004, and I think Solo Piano may have been as well. I am a sucker for rules on these things, and would apologise for being such but...

can someone post that skream radio set?

Best to look in the Events / Mixes / Yawn forum for these things - stuff gets moved there (like this thread most likely) http://www.dissensus.com/showthread.php?t=2734

    Modern Dub

Right - I got to a point of being pretty anal on the Burial Mixes, so for matter of point: The compilations "Artists" & "Versions" cover the A and B side of about the last 8/9 10" singles (every 10" had the artist side and a dub). Matter of choice to pick on those, but the Artist side is more...
