Buddy how are you "canceled"? Were you banned or penalized or in any other way punished? You posted a bunch of bad and ignorant takes and got called out on them. Ppl proclaiming "I've been canceled" when they get called on bullshit might the single most tiresome trope in current social media...

The campus antisemitism is so goddamn dumb btw. No one can point to any actual genocidal claims so the claim is that "what you're saying means what we say it does rather than what you say it does so it's genocidal bc we said so". I.e. "from the river to sea" (a phrase which is literally in...

https://www.newarab.com/investigations/jewish-vigilantes-target-armenian-christians-jerusalem Detailed account of how settler militants steal property in East Jerusalem with the collusion of RW Israeli politicians (in this case, deputy mayor Aryeh King) and the settler infrastructures that...

Numerous predictably insane "shouldn't have supported Hamas then" takes in the replies to a man summoning the strength to describe in detail the killing of his extended family, including grandparents and young children

Idk if I've mentioned this before, but someone I know was shot in the face with a tear gas canister by Israeli border cops in 2009 while photographing one of the weekly protests in Ni'lin against the wall. Lost an eye, partially paralyzed, suffered massive brain damage. It just never ends man...

Entirely foreseeable outcome of giving settler extremists a free hand in the WB, and Ben-Gvir etc a free hand to whip up his followers into a racist frenzy. Huge respect to these people putting their bodies on the line to protect villagers from these assholes. Can't get the article itself to...

    Craner Explains Hayek to Padraig

And to answer your earlier question about Hayek and dictators Neoliberalism doesn't have anything to say either way about liberal cultural values. Yes, no, doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is freeing markets to the greatest possible extent, bc that is supposed to be the ultimate...

    Craner Explains Hayek to Padraig

There's also the destruction of organized labor, austerity, etc and the social atomization all these things produce. Or destruction of social cohesion if you prefer. There's a direct line from the deregulation and deindustrialization of the 80s to the financial crisis, Trump and Brexit, and...

    Craner Explains Hayek to Padraig

As someone who was around for peak antiglobalization, this is simply not true . Like a total fiction. There are many critiques that could be made of that moment in time but this is not one of them. Those ideas were all in wide circulation for at least a decade before The Shock Doctrine was...

I guess it wasn't enough to pass a resolution prohibiting criticism of Israel under a vague definition of antisemitism by 412-1, as there's now a new resolution up for consideration in the House that explicitly states anti-Zionism is antisemitism, which I'm sure is news to the many Jewish...

I don't see much point in saying this for the 100th time, but the genocidal elements in Israeli society are not isolated or fringe. In the days of Meir Kahane they were fringe, but now they're more like a significant minority. They control enough of the Knesset to play kingmaker for Netanyahu...

Do you ever question them about their antisemitism? Doesn't have to be aggressive, just "why do you dislike Jews, really". A friend or family member calling you on it is one of the simplest and most effective ways to defuse any kind of bigotry
