Eye and Talon is the title- BR4 i think it is. And yeah, i can definitely see the consistent tone a la Ballard and Burroughs- i remember hammering all of Ballard's 60's and 70's stuff in a really intense couple of months and it completely destroying my perception of things to the extent that it...

Have been reading him for years- anybody else out there heard/ read him? Having a re-read at the moment- of particular excellence is The Hungry Moon and The Influence...

    K.W Jeter

I've just started reading him and i'm just really into it- i started with a Blade Runner (Eye and Talon) and it wasn't great but it was better than good and some nifty touches (combining book and film and then doing something entirely different). Farewell Horizontal just wonderful- bloody...

    My Bloody Valentine thread

Hahahahah what a totally wonderful photo- awesome... I mean, reconsidering my comments- yeah Noel's right, i can't believe we've been missing this for that long either- i just desperately want this to become something more than just a trip down memory lane. As for the complaints about the...

    My Bloody Valentine thread

saw them last night- they were incredible, the venue and the sound just extraordinary BUT what was the point? I mean they still sound ahead of their time- they're the only guitar band i've bothered to watch in the last 10 years other than Animal Collective (not sure about their recorded output...

    Flying Lotus-Los Angeles (2008)

I probably should have left earlier- i have to admit that i was kind of doing the zombie shuffle by this point- i was actually so tired that even the concept of having a home to go to seemed weird. And then when i did try to get home, i got the wrong bus and it took me about 3 hours. Ballad...

    Flying Lotus-Los Angeles (2008)

Yes to all of that- it was a stupendously good night and Kode9 was just incredible (as always- every set he plays now is just off the planet genius) How awesome was that- i'd never heard it on a dancefloor before either but unfortunately that is down to chance and not age.

GAS - mike ink, wolfgang voight etc..

The one linked is incredible- bizarre smack-house- menacing but not through volume or speed- just ... odd. And its remixed from this which is Sheilds, Martin, and Sonic Boom and the drummer from AMM whose name escapes me right now: http://www.discogs.com/release/295839 This is also amazing-...

    dubstep starters....

starting with Tempa's Dubstep Allstars series is probably a good idea (and their Roots of Dubstep too). Volume 6 mixed by Appleblim has just come out and pushed things in a very sexy new direction. Talking about Applemblim- Skull Disco's Soundboy Punishments comp is a truly excellent archive...
