Brandon, I think the article came across as pretty clearly well-researched, I just think the dichotomies the article sets up aren't true to how the scene actually works, where people play tunes that fall into any and often all three of the "categories" (house tracks / skank tracks / funkstep)...

I thought Sound of the Pirates II was a comedown from the first one at the time, but I've totally reassessed in the past year, it's smashing. The only tracks I don't flat out adore are "Kinda Funky" and "Nike Boing" (i.e. the breakbeat garage tracks, go figure).
