The worst thing about this topic is everyone thinks their opinion is as valid, or in some sad cases more valid than people who actually deal with and live with the issues. Can we imagine a thread about black music where many long time posters start to say "those fucking blacks eh, can't help...
Was reading some very depressing tweets earlier about Russia being likely to blow up that power plant, in part emboldened by our relative indifference about the dam attack. Shitty country of fucking sociopath vandals.

Fair point I still think Iraq created huge levels of public distrust. Rightly so, really. Those in charge lied so they could prosecute a war of aggression.
9/11 truthers are fairly few tbh (or were anyway) though they wouldn't have met before the internet. I think think of them like pick up artists, minimal numbers subcultures that wouldn't really exist otherwise.
side point: don't disagree hugely here but I think the Iraq war and then the 2008 financial crash were both more important in fracturing the consensus than 9/11, spectacular though it was.
