    Shackleton

To me, his music sounds more like some sort of weird trance inside the deepest parts of your mind more than, cliche darkness. Btw, incredible producer and performer.

    post-'06 dubstep that sounds 06ish

Distance, Cyrus, Kryptic Minds, VIVEK, SP:MC, Verse, Mala, Calibre, Icicle, Antisocial and plenty of other names are continuing that older darker sound while still keeping things fresh. 2004 -2006 obviously had a special vibe but if you like that older sound there's still plenty of stuff imo.

Right so he's been about for a long time i know. But this year his music has just been crazy. The Hemlock 12", the Hessle EP, then Work Them/Fall Short... A whole loads of amazing remixes and dubs. Not to mention mixes, the Bestimix and the recent one from the Marry Anne Hobbs show are maybe my...

    The Mount Kimbie album

I love it, its not totally mind-blowing or anything but just every track is great, ambitious, interesting. They have such a keen sense of how to make jolty rhythms and strange melodies, but that work. Its not just being "experimental" for the sake of it. IMO, the last track is probably surplus...

    Tremé

Gonna try to put off watching this online and wait till it hits DVD in the UK. So excited to watch though, and this thread seems to rate it so even more excited. Simon/Burns seem to be the best TV drama writers... Ever.

The Mala track has grown on me, I find with his tunes I either love them straight away or I don't love them then I love them after listening through a few times. Theres never usually another outcome haha.

    Skream's new vid

Gonna be honest, i like the tune. I can get into the "epicness" of it. Fair enough if you can't though i can see how this track could be seen to be total shit. And for the video... ermm yeh, thats awful.
