bump, as someone requested it

feeling this swifta beater ep, it's not overtly bassline but he is one of those ex-bassline guys making skippy stuff. he's affiliated with stayfresh as well

Swifters stuff almost crosses over with old tuff breaky garage with it's drum patterns, it's nice.

This is the best Bassline tune at the moment. Someone post some other ones that are good still. Bassline is not really the same is it? What has happened? Why did it go from way beyond everything to a passing fad? From a critics position disclaimer.

limited palette.

i think a lot of people compared it to grime at certain stages but that's not really it's parallel- as much as you had the aggressive grime and the raw bass led grime there was always the ability to go into ruff sqwad minor chord megaman music for example.

lot more versatile than bassline which is basically a 4x4 and several basstones.

really it's got more in common with scouse house in that sense than anything else

Think you are right about the limited palette. It was best around 2007 when the DJs were mixing all sorts fo stuff together from stuff like Scouse House to Dubstep. As it formed into something that people had set ideas about it gradually went stale. There are still some good tracks coming out but they are more tunes for DJs to use with other stuff rather than a scene in its own right imo.
