Lisbon is supposed to be really boring. i have noticed that american tourists always insist on going to edinburgh and ireland for some reason.

Seville: king of the hot cities, 38 degrees when I went (this was October too), v cool African/European fusion, some really good art and churches etc, and a lot of good food if you know where to look, lots of cafes where you can sit in the street sipping beer and reading a brick like Beckett biography 10/10

whatever you do dont go to spain and dont go to berlin. that would be my most urgent advice.

and don't come in winter, or if yuo come in winter only go to the most southern points of europe, palermo, sevilla, cyprus maybe

Berlin: I'm noticing a theme here it was Horrendously Hot and we had to lie in a park, there are lots of parks, there are lots of clubs but they make you queue for ages and then won't let you in unless you're a graphic designer, didn't even get to explore the museums, there's a lake there where six pack clad lads cavort for the madchen, didn't like it here as much but 10/10 for effort

I suppose there's a whole genre of psychogeographic travel journalism where the journey deliberately visits the Spanish equivalent of Ipswich
