I was listening to Kode9's RA mix the other day and had this same thought. Juke's never appealed to me cuza that danceability thing too but maybe you could recreate the same sound at 130. All samples and pulsing 808/sine waves instead of kicks might still work alright at a lower tempo.

I won't carry on this conversation in this thread but I think ''Footcrab'' showed that putting that juke style into something more conventional makes it more... ermmm, conventional! And therefore less exciting.
Still, I guess you don't have to mimic juke to emulate it. I just think all this soft synths have sapped rawness and rough edges from dance music in general.

None of the UK guys can do those juke vocal samples like the Chicago guys, there's always something a bit rigid about them.
Things I want from deep tech:

That and more stuff like RS4 and Martin Ikin. the RS4 mix of Locked On You is still my favorite thing this scene's put out, are there other people playing around with a similar jungle/hardcore influence?
