Yeah, I know it went really nuts in 2022, when movement restrictions were lifted after the covid years - that was the first graph I could find easily that went back to the early 90s and showed that, as recently as that, the UK was a net exporter of people.I just want to point out a little detail: your list ends in 2020, but that's exactly the point when the real spike happened. So it's precisley the last couple of years when all the historic immigration records were broken with roughly one million newcomers arriving each year:

But yeah, the idea that immigration like we've had in the last couple of years is historically typical is obviously absurd.
