I think so. It violates the posse cometatus act.
There’ll be crazy court cases behind this.
I think it’s only congress that can okay it and I’ve heard reports (which just means hear say) that Marines are on stand by.
Apparently neither the mayor or governor requested this.

Yeah it’s definitely a strongman/authoritarian move, but more broadly I still am not really worried, again mostly because these executive orders mostly are functioning to signal strongman intents. They don’t seem to have nearly the weight their name suggests, at least as I understand it

Well giving direct orders to NG units and fighting running street battles in LA looks fairly weighty to me, although of course I'm looking at it from the outside and perhaps this is a totally normal state of affairs for a functioning democracy.

Idk where the Governor stands in the big picture. The State has its own AG that should be filing cease and desist orders st least, right? The obvious thing to do (to me) is personally go down and try to stop it & if not get arrested.
In my experience the most extreme shot callers on both sides are either FBI/ATF snitches & informants working as agent provocateurs. Whether loyal to Trump or someone else.
The people that are gonna get most hurt are the real concerned citizens & the law enforcement officers (pawns) who only care about protecting their comrades to their left & right that will lose their job & get indicted behind all this.

This is a very common theme in stuff I've heard from people who are heavily involved in street protesting. There was a guy who used to post here a lot who could probably give us chapter and verse on this, but sadly he seems to have fucked off for good in the last couple of years.

I actually kinda think it is what healthy democracy looks like... Plus I'm never surprised by this sort of crack-down, because all it takes is a couple violent loonies with agendas of their own to escalate an otherwise peaceful protest, thus legally justifying the deployment of state force.

I would be a lot more worried if I thought right-wing culture drastically outweighed left-wing culture, or vice versa for that matter. These all just seem like cultural vacillations, pendulum swings, etc.
