didn't make it through. have a threshold for the asinine, it seems
My Marxist stepson home for the holidays.what position are you attacking from?
well i never really agreed with him on his philosophy so it was probably read in bad faith tbh. pushes the inane "accelerationism" hard-on that all his acolytes have, just a slog to get through. the foreword is quite hilariously wrong too, paired with an embarrassing defence of that VC essay (which tbf, i couldn't care less about - he's written worse!)
I was simply imagining a bunch of these spirited young individuals turning up here with Mark's book in hand, each one of them presuming they're joining a community of like-minded individuals who also want to change the world, only to get bombarded with page after page of Stan's incomprehensible techno-babble, and then, when they ask for some help, Third turns up and tells them that whatever ideas they've picked up from Mark are wrong and that they should go and listen to his playlist of 170bpm Acid Techno in an abandoned warehouse in Grimsby for six months before they can even begin to think of setting foot on here again. Not really, his crushing last time around was what, conflating psychedelia with schizophrenia? Not very satsifying. Were there bits of the acid communism stuff you found ridiculous?
