I can imagine one of the bros (including version) giving an impassioned rant at a fireside gathering that ends with (whispered ecstatically) "and that dude's name?... Thomas Pynchon."

Maybe he has done this - I don't see any evidence to the contrary (IE a comprehensive transcription of his entire life).

This looks like someone remaking Raging Bull as a mockumentary, bit of Mean Streets in there too.

I just read The Age of Innocence and after that I thought the film adaptation was well done. Somehow I never knew it was Scorsese though - well I must have obviously but I forgot, which is not surprising cos it's not like a Scorsese film. I guess he recognised the limits of his style or something and made a solid job of adapting it... at the cost of it having no personality of its own.

i have been going thru scorsese work pst couple months.... he is most important director. so cool, as a big fan i will admit that there are a decent amount a films from him that im not that hot on, but for me, the masterpieces outweigh the duds, and the lowest of the lows for scorsese beat out 99 percent of the crap that comes out in any year that hes been working.... and i mean that!
