I haven't taken it myself, have no intention of doing so and have no idea whether it has any sort of effect on the virus, but this constant emphasizing of Ivermectin being used to treat horses is ridiculous and, ironically, probably falls under "misinformation" due to being intentionally misleading. You can look the stuff up on Wikipedia and it mentions it's used to treat humans in the second sentence, but there's a relentless campaign to make out that the people taking it are doing the medical equivalent of eating dog food or something.

That's fair, but equally, it's used to treat parasite infestations, so there's no reason why it should be of any use to treat a disease caused by a virus.
