i had a Thought today, which is that i think at least some countries are going to get quite into regulating the internet in the next decade or so. particularly in europe i'm not sure the current free for all is going to stand up long-term.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a big push from the media in that regard. They don't seem to like that people can ignore them and go elsewhere for information.

I think lot of it will be prohibitively expensive to regulate, especially as web3 kicks in more. Probably 5G, and future generations, will only make it exponentially harder to track the data ecosystem.

The shadow libraries webinar i posted about last night was very interesting about the relaionship between centre and periphery - the centre is locked down but academics leak documents to the periphery where they can be shared outside the copyright regime
