No, don't have a camera. Not a lot anyway, just a light coating on the pavements and rooftops.
do you still not have a smartphone? i thought by now that would be impossible. here, certain bank or government services requires you to have a smartphone if i'm not mistaken.

I've a Nokia that has no camera, no wifi, etc. I've got a knackered old smartphone with a busted camera my brother gave me which I use to troubleshoot stuff if my computer has any issues, but I only use it for that and USB tethering if I need a wifi adapter now and then. It's mostly collecting dust.

Anyone else get snowed in today?

Had a lovely walk this morning with my boy, who'd never seen snow before. Properly magical.

is the northern european winter the worst winter in the world? i don't even mind it when it's cold as long as its sunny but days on end with just wind and rain and no sun ever, not yesterday not today not tomorrow and the grayness makes every day look the same. it's the worst winter in the world would rather be in siberia or chicago or whatever place they call cold.

yeah i think so and that's an interesting way to put it. every time i come to england in the winter it always feels so extreme. by march everyone looks like they've survived something

new york winter is colder, it's fucking freezing and you've got to be outside a lot, it's not the kind of place where you can go from your house to a car to a building, it's a streets city, you've got to walk down them walk up from the subway into the freezing wind tunnel air. but it's blue sky and bright colours and the evenings are longer even in midwinter.

it looks beautiful new york! i would rather have a crystal clear blue sky with -100 degrees than a wet and moldy bone-chilling eternal gray darkness.

i'm there in my mind already i'm on the l-train and everybody is breakdancing and i step outside the people are standing around a fire in a barrel it's cold yes but we are all wearing thick puffer jackets with the fur on top, when we talk there's fog coming from our mouth, that's how cold it is, it's crystal clear the air but the sky is free and we are wearing sun glasses and the big shiny towers reflect the sun light in every direction

aye but then the sun starts to get blanked out by buildings, row after row, block after block the entire length of Manhattan

in the shade, when the Atlantic winds switch to north easterly’s, it’s fuckin raw

and it rains, biggest difference is it could be 65 degrees next week and no-one would think anything of it

not out to piss on your NY parade @yyaldrin the summers are brutally too (something about my genetics and humidity align)

America, how much is imagined onto it constantly evolves with each generation, just look at recent visa palaver

I'm in an eastern "subtropical" zone and, a couple of weeks ago, it started getting down to freezing and below freezing late at night which really ain't fair after weathering the most brutal hot, humid and sticky summer in my life. There's also still plenty of wind (I thought another tornado must have hit the other night the house shook so hard and it sounded like a bomb hit the roof) and rain, too.
OTOH, the sun doesn't get blocked out by buildings, but there ain't shit where I am (not even a decent Indian restaurant - did I say that before, yeah, but I don't care - not even ONE decent Indian restaurant - I assume the only reason it's constantly packed is that it's full of people that haven't even traveled as far as an hour away in their entire lifetime)
Excuse me, but i'm gonna go hang with my boys now - the breakdancers in puffer jackets
