I keep going back to this
post some more of the old ones please
I like the mystery of the older OPN gear. I like the later stuff too, but now it's just Dan Lopatin doing his new record on Warp with whichever set of collaborators he fancies using. Bit too slick and professional. There's a magic to the grainy sounds and clips.
Are you really? My dad used to cane a couple of her albums when I was a kid. Also Enigma at the same time - I always associate those things for that reason. It's almost like a Pavlovian reaction, or like Proust's madeline or something - takes me straight back to sitting on the floor of the living room where we lived then. I reckon it when we had just bought a cd player and these silver discs seemed really magical. We only had about five of them.big enya fan
R Plus Seven was the last of those, I think. There's something really mysterious about that cover art.every new one comes with a prepackaged narrative too, like here's what the records about. whereas the older stuff just had immensely evocative art and titles and let you do the work.
