I was already using a refurbished thinkpad & unbuntu when i read this article - a bit better spec than what they are on about but still cheap and fantastic

I was on a refurbished thinkpad for a while (as a temporary break from my 10 year long friendship with apple) and to be honest I could not wish more from a 150 quid computer.
issue is, I do some things these days that tend to be quite performance heavy, and I'm not sure how high my chances are to score a refurbished series X or whatever else with a high spec

Yeah mine is T450 from c2015 - a lot newer than an X, and works great
After i bought it I found another someone had left for the electronics recycling

I'm no expert but wouldn't that be a basic software as opposed to a hardware issue? could you just uninstall and reinstall the program?

Ever fancied a job at the Apple Store? That's their stock reply for faulty hard disks, "it's your software that is causing the problem"

I thought it was just a problem playing music, in which case I was suggesting just uninstalling and reinstalling whatever music program was being used (not the entire hard drive).

sadly it's not only mp3s, same issue with audio output from max/ableton/whatever, it does the occasional hiccup which is rather upsetting

I just moved on from a first-gen iPhone SE, which is the same size as the 6. I loved how it was small enough to fit comfortably in my pocket, but I'd had it for number of years and the battery was crapping out, would drain down quickly. the slightly larger 12 mini I have now is much better for reading, much improved screen and camera, faster, etc. but I still miss that smaller SE.

is it the cost, of something else. they are really expensive now, but considering how much I use it every day, not so bad. plus being self employed, I write off part of the cost as work equipment.
