I won't be watching that then.

You could get a contact high on the cheap, which begs the question how can you have an 80’s thread and not watch First Blood?

Yeah, that scene's strange. She tries to shoot him later, iirc, and he just goes under the water in the bath and it doesn't do anything. I think Pale Rider has a similar plot re: the ghost thing too, but I haven't seen that one.

If you enjoy violent movies check out my Eurocult Film thread, it’s wall to wall carnage on there.

You'll definitely have to watch Back to the Future Part II, Luka. There's the whole Trump angle to it now, also the future they travel to's 2015.

I have watched any film yet cos I can't imagIne any situation where I'd rather watch a stupid film instead of 'hanging out' and 'shooting the shit' with my boys

I haven’t jumped off a cliff into a conifer, sewn up my own arm, ambushed and disabled an entire police squad in the woods, navigated an abandoned mine network with a knife covered in lit cloth for light or brought chaos to a small town in the Pacific NW yet cos I can't imagIne any other situation instead of 'hanging out' and 'shooting the shit' with my boys

Not much killing in it, a bit like terminator two in that sense, but still enjoyable.

this is maybe my favourite scene in all of film. absolutely heartbreaking. stallone's complete inability to speak the english language really works well in this context, it comes across as completely distraught.

the first rambo's an interesting bridge between two eras of cinema. it comes at the very end of the 70's era of character examinations and that really is the engine of this film. but then of course it's stallone and muscles and guns and explosions and it's ushering in the age of action muscle men. the other rambos don't have the pathos of this one, it's what gives the whole franchise heart.

He should have gone out fighting not started crying like a girl. But otherwise Barty is right. The notable thing about it is the way it straddles those two eras.

I watched this fairly recently and the Trump angle is actually spooky.
