A while back I made this my "choon of the day"
I think a couple of people (perhaps
@william_kent maybe
@woops) dug it to some extent so they might be interested to hear what I learned at the weekend about how it came to be released.
Apparently Lena was dj-ing in Shanghai and some random guy stuck a USB into her hand, something which I suppose happens quite a lot... some she listens to, some she probably loses, whatever, I dunno. But this one, she is travelling and bored, has some spare time so she gives it a listen and likes it. She played it to Vladimir and he said "This is great, has it got a label to release it?" and she says most likely not. So, next question, who is this guy and how do we find him? But the USB is completely blank with no info at all, it's not in an envelope or anything. After that they spent ages asking people and so on and finally they find a soundcloud with the track on it and Vladimir messages him saying that he wants to put it out, and..... the guy completely ignores it.
So they are on the verge of giving up and then Lena is being interviewed or something on some show and she thinks that it has quite a reach so she plays the track and tells the story and hopes that somehow it will get back to the guy... and it does and he contacts them and it gets releaseed - hooray! Well, I for one am glad cos I love it.
