Peak period kompakt, say 2003-2006ish is golden I think. That wistful melancholic vibe but still proper dancefloor bombs. There's very little fucking around with early kompakt is there. Those tracks were made for dancing and they work. Also a lot of techno slammers in there, especially at the Speicher end of things. Reinhard voigt used to tear your face off

You can only say this if you don't know the records that lot were making in the 90s. They gave up the LSD headfuck in the 00s and as @chava says became dangerously close to prog house, even when they were making slamming techno.
