Anyone into fishing? Or maybe just have a garden pond? I only have 3 goldfish in my pond but love fishing.

This is my favourite spot to go and chill, a small river that flows into a fish holding weir pool in my village. I can walk it there if I wanted.

Some days I fish it and it's full of small silver fish.

Other days it's full of Chub although Barbel have been showing recently. Both of these pictures were caught on the Stick Float although that's more of a summer method and I'll usually fish it on the feeder.

Yeah I go fishing with my dad occasionally, more for the hanging out than the sport

Also the fush mega thread here was a thing

do you eat the fish you catch? i like everything about fishing except for catching actual fishes. i like sitting on a chair watching the water for hours, see the shadows slowly grow longer, see the sky turn darker. but i don't like it when i catch a fish, they are so slimy and you have to go inside their mouths to take out the hook.

I don't really mind the sliminess but yeah same feeling for me more or less, always try and eat them more for the principle than the flavour

Fush mega thread? Did I miss it? :) I love going with my dad but he doesn't brave the cold weather like I do.

You don't generally eat Coarse fish although it's popular with European Anglers to take them for the plate. Although saying that, I was fishing on this weir and a group of lads told me their mate had caught an eel from there and ate it, apparently he didn't leave it in clean water to flush out the toxins long enough and it made him bad.

Carp were very popular in Poland as a Christmas dish so apparently you see them in supermarkets here now.

cant beleive you psychos have turned a thread about how lovely fish are into a thread about torturing and killing fush. typical

Fish tend to hurt themselves from spawning more than fishing. I would say that as an angler though. Here's a 6 or 7lb Barbel from the River Severn with a battered tail presumably from spawning.

And a 1lb 14oz Roach with a chunk out of its tail presumably from a predatory bird like a Cormorant or it could have been a Pike.

My brothers love fish and fishing. Never got the fishing bit, prefer coastal angling as a day out. Probably spoiled by these fuckers fishing in canals with shopping trolleys and needles in growing up.

An old mate was a river ghillie for years. Job was show all these posh cunts sections of rivers for fly fishing. Spots you’d have to pay a chunk of change for. Tips doubled his salary.

Access to rivers is a personal grievance. Incredible places. Stop off somewhere and then a river warden turns up, asking all sorts of questions, legal ramifications when there’s no rods about. Fuck off mate, we’re swimming.

Nobody who fishes likes fish you can't like fish and fish them the only people who like fish are non-fishers

Fish seem like jolly good lads they don't think too hard about things they just go with the flow and like to get their eggs inseminated

Sometimes I make little popping noises with my mouth like when your lips part maybe a little saliva bubble pops I dunno I haven't seen the bubble but there's something popping it sounds like a bubble popping you know what I mean when I do that I feel like a fish it gives me empathy I also swam a lot as a kid I think that helps
