If you buy beats online (common practice with the likes of beatstars .com where the beat for huge hit "Old Town Road" was found) then you need an engineer to record your vocal.I feel like someone on here was maybe talking about the increased prominence of The Engineer in drill music. Engineers with a higher status than producers. Linked to this concern with modelling a 3-D environment in digital.
It’s like the inverse of more bounce to the ounce where the mind blowing thing was hearing roger troutmans robot voice make these discrete jumps between tones, whereas with gliding bass on drill it’s the continuous loop the loop whip lash feeling
Exactly. modelling the continuum

yeah it's either autotune or some people use melodyne, zynaptiq pitchmap as well. comes with some funky affordances but is generally keyboard controllable.don't know if it's discussed already but i watched a youtube video by some massive nerd talking about pitch correction and how there aren't any real singers any more etc etc etc a couple of months ago and now i hear it everywhere. absolutely and comprehensively dominant production technique. it is getting closer and closer to AI. you can hear it in metal even how the technology is sanding everything down. all the copy and pastes and tinkering vs someone playing or singing.
