I can't help but wonder how much of it is scripted in that as the game/universe "evolves", the developers need to lay on structures for the participants to battle in. So to some extent, at least, the battles are set peices - even if the victor is not pre-ordained, the shape of the conflict, the weaponry, is not created as if by magic from nowhere - the developers are creating a story for the players.EVE is incredible though.
