Yeah, I agree, Nature Unveiled era was decent (the CD version that has the live bonus tracks is the best IMO) - wasn't the earliest stuff mostly Steve Stapleton anyway? Then it was just Death In June with fey vocals about Noddy and cats.

even then C93's "drumming side" "ov" "In Menstrual Night"

seemed like a pale imitation OV

VAGINA DENTATA ORGAN

THE TRIUMPH OF THE FLESH

E once owned a picture disc ov thee Pagan Drums of Calanda, but not one with thee embedded blood. ( edit: E once owned a "menstrual night" picture disc as well, which E sold for drugs, but E ended up buying a cd reissue for thee* drumming side because I'm a dick )

edit: before RAVE E used to have theories about thee power of drums, about how rhythms pounded out over days and nights could lead to higher consciousness and trance states, but then my friend ended up being to relocated to a flat next to some trustifarians with a VW camper van who held continuous "drum circles" with no rhythm hippy wank and E had to do some radical rethinking

edit: not to say that EYE didn't almost get there

I'm not afraid to admit E was overpowered with COSMIC ENERGY at about 1 hour 18 minutes into this and at 1:23 ( really! ) E was overwhelmed!

77 BOA DRUM

BOREDOMS / V∞redoms figured out THEE POWER OV BOREDRUM / COSMIC SHIT

edit: V∞redoms - not quite thee best band I've ever seen live, but in my top ten for sure ( only free festival types will have heard of my number one live experience, a "collective" who also take thee number two spot )

edit: E digressed, E was going to post about how Barrington Levy is a lot shorter than you imagine but E went off on a tangent and didn't even post a "choon of the day, redux"

* it's really hard being a PSYCHICK OAP and adding in all THEE extra Es

thee roots of hip hop

Yo young daughters
Give rich old dudes head in limousines too
Put a curse on you

edit: I misremembered this as being "PUT A SHOE ON YOU" and I was going to splice it in with footage of PUFFY D & CASSIE in a hotel corridor but... old age and faulty memory have failed me yet again

Come cuttin' your stuff with Talcum too
Put my curse on you

[...]

You go from one bag a day to two
From two to three
From three to four
And your hit come upping the Jones on you
Put a curse on you
Put a curse on you

edit: about ten years ago there was a left field, maybe Southern, hip hop video featuring a guy with a natural hairdo poncing around a lift ( translation for dudes: "dicking around an elevator" ) and it was left of centre and people I knew were like WTF? and I had to explain to everyone that there was a precedent with Mario Van Peebles and I wish I could remember the name of thee copycat tune...

and two seconds later TOTAL RECALL!

OG MACO - U GUESSED IT

OH GEE GEE GEEEE!

edit: was OG MACO thee birth of drill? edit: probably not

I got sidetracked from my original intention of recounting how I once walked past Barrington Levy one time and how his belly was BROADER THAN BROADWAY but he was a lot more "diminished in stature" than I expected... some other time

By the way, Pet Shop Boys wouldn't exist had it not been for a bit of heteronormativity.

no big deal had or hadn't they existed in all honesty. Oxford University does dull peoples critical faculties in this regard.

Now, Stravinsky, an ultraconservative, but a very very big deal. Utterly shameful from you to succumb to atheistic poptimism. Your grandkids will despise you.
