what's become apparent to me is that if you havent spent years engaging with this music you probably wont have anything interesting to say about it because you can't really hear it. this is why catalog and Stan can only say vague things. it's not cos they're stupid or cloth-eared necessarily. just that you need training. you need to have heard 10,000 variations on the same theme.

and i suppose this is also get people trying to draw up various ways to get people into the music, Hamilton as much as that musical and Lin Manuel Miranda makes me wretch seems to have been a big converter in getting people to at least appreciate it. But then you also get all these big data studies dedicated to syllables and vocabulary or all those awful charts that originally sprang from places like /mu but i've also seen of reddit where they map out where you should start and if you want something similiar or slightly different to it here's these other albums
