to be fair, last time I had to change a lightbulb was about 4 years ago
things have improved lightbulb wise

all these abandoned mini super computers lying about on shelves and in drawers one day they will come to life and start dancing around like disney zombie planet of the robotsI wouldn't get so annoyed about this sort of thing if I felt we were getting genuine improvements, but so much of what comes down the pipeline seems to be a downgrade: it costs more, it's more intrusive, it's more of a pain to navigate and it doesn't last as long. I just want things which last, which work and which leave you alone, but apparently that's beyond our present capabilities.
ive been rereading terribly written but entertaining robert anton wilson novels and the quality of those are hilarious. like jpegs blown up till they go all blurry and indistinct.Feels as though more and more books on Amazon are being printed by them. Not talking self-published stuff, I'm talking famous books, classics. Seems like it's either publishers cutting costs or bootleggers becoming bolder. Gotten Penguin editions off there with the paper quality of znore's book and the little Amazon credit in the back. Same with a Verso thing I got from them last year and something of Céline's I got the other week. The last one being particularly blatant as I've another of his in the same series from the same publisher that feels like a 'proper' book.
I try to get stuff direct from the publisher or second hand from eBay most of the time.
Oh haha, thanks for explaining. That reference is so far beyond my realm of familiarity, i.e. who is raekwon? What is/are linx? etc.its a reference to raekwons classic album only made for cuban linx. the dublin is a reference to joyce.
A Polish hacking group, Dragon Sector, went public recently with a scandal about one of Poland’s oldest train makers, Newag, bricking its own trains when they were repaired by third parties. However, new reporting on Tuesday from Polish publication Onet alleges that Dragon Sector first went to government officials with the story a year ago, and it was even brought to the attention of the Polish Prime Minister at the time, Mateusz Morawiecki.
I would expect that neofascist Morawiecki to be in collusion with the company in questionThis is a pretty mad story:

I'm honestly surprised and perhaps even a little disappointed that Stan hasn't made a 'Cuban Linux' gag.Clearly a generational thing but seems amazing that someone could post on here and not know Cuban Linx
