I've just been enjoying how quiet it is in the barrio this week cos everyone's in the town centre watching the pasos. The scale of it in Sevilla is insane, a thousand times bigger and more grand than anywhere else in Spain, but I can't handle being in those crowds anymore, it's too much.
This was about 30 minutes walk from where I live on Thursday night/Friday morning - the "madrugada". I was sat on my balcony drinking wine but I could smell the incense from there. It is amazing, but seeing it once is enough for me.
is it true @Benny Bunter that everybody stopped working and went outside drinking beer in the sun sitting around the radio all together and that it was the best day in the lives of many people?
It was really weird actually, a bit like at the beginning of covid for a while there. I was out jogging in the park when it got cut off, and on my way back i noticed all the traffic lights weren't working. Then my phone battery ran out so i didn't have much of a clue what was going on. One of my neighbours reckoned it was a terrorist attack by Putin.
I sat around in the house for while and when it became clear i wasn't gonna be able to start my shift, I did go down to the bar and had a few, read my book - I owe the barwoman 7 euros cos i couldn't use my card. Power's been back on here for a while now but the internet connection keeps coming and going.
Weird day.

The leccy here in Seville came back on after 5 or 6 hours, it was just the internet and mobile data was down all day, so I managed to get a cold beer and basically had a paid day off work.
