Arguably winehouse is better from a conceptual pov cuss she's just so over the top. what you're doing is letting your flimsy discipline waver in pursuit of épater les bourgeois and pleasantries. The dislike of the clever is middle class self-hate. It's the same reason why your love for oasis is cowardly. never abandon the conceptual! even @blissblogger in his heart of hearts is a progger, he wants everyone to make conceptual albums, he just thinks that the proggers don't do it all that well. fair enough, there's a lot of crap mainstream prog out there.
