keep going i likke claude young not very exciting but very pleasant

This is decent.

Plays the Clarke tracks that are about the epitome of UK Detroit, but released on Planet E.

He's a good DJ. Plays Badger Bite on this, that was what I was talking about when fishing today. "Do not disturb the Badger Sets" is on the club rules. One man got mauled by a Badger that got into his garage and was never the same again.

12 more! you can do it!!
Techno for me has always been about finding oddities, either that or a full mix where it's about overall energy. I heard Neil Landstrumm - Field Preaching and thought there's nothing quite as off kilter. Can't do it with just one producer.

@thirdform is your man for concise definitions of Claude Young. I like the Younger Than Parks stuff, like Brewster Projects, his housey stuff as much as his alien stuff.

Rock music in general for me as a sacred cow depending on who you speak to, not because I don't like it, but because some of the fans seem closed off to anything that doesn't have a guitar and vocals.

finally listened to the first three throbbing gristle albums (inspired by my veteran raver friend from the grocery store reading thee psychick bible) and i have to admit they didn't make a big impression on me. didn't grab my attention by the lapels the way i expect canonical stuff to. evocative, imagination-sparking atmospheres created - but not really channeled into forms with strong momentum/flow. each track just sort of putters around in a vaguely menacing way for a few minutes. so the intensity you can imagine was going into the music doesn't quite come out of it.

Long time ago from the original context. TG‘s relaunch gigs 20 years ago have some definitive renditions of early works and will age better than a raft of PTV gubbins. To represent Sheffield briefly, TG never hit as hard personally as Cabaret Voltaire. Cue awfully vague language like the dreaded word ‘groove’

A coherence is missing with TG masked by ferocity and intent. Never saw GPO live until 1990 and it was e’d up mania a million miles away from the 70’s. Bits of ephemera linked to PTV collaborative projects, like Academy 23, are worth seeking out, more for the Burroughs/Gysin contributions

Some of the individual live sets are better than the 'proper' albums. I like the chunkiness of the later sound too.
