finally listened to the first three throbbing gristle albums (inspired by my veteran raver friend from the grocery store reading thee psychick bible) and i have to admit they didn't make a big impression on me. didn't grab my attention by the lapels the way i expect canonical stuff to. evocative, imagination-sparking atmospheres created - but not really channeled into forms with strong momentum/flow. each track just sort of putters around in a vaguely menacing way for a few minutes. so the intensity you can imagine was going into the music doesn't quite come out of it.

yeah. rubbish in retrospect

anyway, my unpopular opinion is that that Lee Perry Heart of the Congos album is not all that

not even in my top 1000

rubbish album, 2 tunes are OK

totally over rated

"IS THE WORLD AS SAD AS IT SEEMS?"

although this is actually my favourite TG album
