Liz Truss studied philosophy, politics, and economics at Merton College, Oxford,
i read a pretty convincing thing about Oxford PPE - that it basically conditions you out of any kind of (entirely healthy) imposter syndrome that an otherwise functional adult human person might have... the way the course is run basically demands that you consistently attend seminar interrogations having NOT done the reading... then the only challenge is to style it out, to come up smelling of roses, to pull the wool, etc... the husks who thrive in that environment all lack self-awareness and anything resembling humility or empathy... it's a finishing school for pathological bullshitters who never learned to share

Can well believe it.
I play squash with this guy who went to Eton and he was telling me about how they specifically encourage you to break pointless rules - or rules you deem pointless I guess... and it's a short journey from there to rules that are simply inconvenient and then you get Boris Johnson.

Johnson read Classics, the "posh back-door" into Oxford... there's a video edit of all the times Johnson has quoted the same exact bit of Virgil in a speech or on a panel ... each time with the ribald swagger of a learned classicist... but of course this video makes it quite obvious that it's the only passage he knows

But he went to Etin is why I mentioned him... think Cameron did PPE right?

Top Australian politician Just Called JD Vance a “knob”

One thing I will say is that the Trump administration has been part of the movement which has caused politicians to change from saying stuff like

"Fundamentally I feel that we are at odds and I struggle to envisage how we can find common ground to successfully deliver this negotiation"

to

"He's a fucking lying little bitch and if he comes round here I'll stab him in the eye"

which is obviously a good thing.

JD Vance calls UK 'some random country that hasn't fought war in 30 years'

Wish he was right, but unfortunately we fought in two pretty dodgy ones alongside his country just over 20 years ago.
