A key to the house even though I have no reason to ever use it (I haven't even left the house one time in ~7 months) and, for some reason, a wallet with some years or decades old junk in it, or some cards I never use.

Why don't you leave? Isn't it nice to sit outside in the sun sometimes?

How long have you been visiting temples and shrines? How many talismans have you got?

@sus go on tell us about the bird whistle
It's a little metal wooden thing. You essentially squeak the metal against wood, by rotating the inner shaft, and it sounds remarkably birdlike to the innocent ear. It takes some technical work to be a passable mimic of any specific bird call, to anyone with an ear, though. I am probably early in my journey.

In part because birdsong is such a metaphor for the poets. And poetry is music. It seemed very natural someone should learn to whistle like a bird. I always loved the Magic Flute's Papageno and Papagena, their chirplyircs.
